The World Aphorism Organization (WAO, pronounced WOW!) was founded on March 14, 2008 to proclaim and promote the aphorism, the oldest written art form on the planet, as a manner of philosophical thought ideally suited to our times and to celebrate the aphorism as the perfect medium for people who are tired of ideologies but haven’t given up on ideas.
